Doublets Plain and Fancy
The Doublet is one of the fundamental pieces of men's garb. It is probably also the one most immediately recognizable as setting as outfit apart as "period". They were worn by commoners, merchants, soldiers, and royalty, and were made from a wide variety of fabrics, and trimmed from simple to phenomenal.
Basic Doublet - Made from your choice of brocades, velvets, or cotton twill. Includes collar, sleeve caps, laced up or button up front closure, and buttom skirting (collar, sleeve caps, and skirting may also be left off if you prefer!) Lined in your choice of satin or cotton broadcloth - $125
Reversible Doublet - same as the Basic doublet, with the additional feature of giving you two looks in one! The second side is from the same choice of fabrics as the Basic Doublet - a great way to stretch your wardrobe without stretching your budget! - $175
Side Lacing Doublet - similar to the Basic Doublet, it includes lacing at the sides which allows it to be very adjustable in size. This is an excellent feature which also allows you to adjust the fit to yourself exactly, for a custom tailored look - $150, Side Lacing Reversible Doublet - $200.
Doublet sleeves - a wonderful addition to your look, they lace on to the doublet body and are detachable for hot weather. They are available in plain or button closure, and single sided or reversible to go with your reversible doublet (or get reversible sleeves for a Basic Doublet to give a second look!) - Plain sleeves - $50, Plain Reversible Sleeves - $65, Button Front Sleeves - $75, Reversible Button Front Sleeves - $90.
Doublet Trims - trimming is available in a wide variety of styles. I also can do quilting, beading and studding. Prices vary by trim design and complexity - please email for details!
